The "Gerhard Rohlfs" Museum of the Calabrian Greek Language in Bova represents an important point of arrival in the local development strategy undertaken in the village of Bova 25 years ago until today.  The decision to build it was the result of a local development process that allowed Bova to live its "cultural identity" in a more conscious way and to enhance it also for historical-touristic and cultural purposes. In this way, the museum structure was created to tell the story of the Calabrian Greek language through the history of a community that still speaks it today and lives on the slopes of the southern Aspromonte, in particular in the municipalities of Bova, Bova, Marina, Condofuri, Roghudi and Roccaforte del Greco, all overlooking the Fiumara dell'Amendolea in the province of Reggio Calabria.
